Community Education Preschool | Day Care and Learning Center | Great Start Readiness Program

The Early Childhood Center (ECC) programming focuses on safety, care, development and kindergarten readiness.  The ECC houses several programs including Community Education Preschool, Great Start Readiness Preschool, and a Daycare and Learning Center for both before- and after-school childcare for children from kindergarten to fifth grade, as well as all-day childcare with educational enrichment for children ages 12 months to 5 years old.

Community Education Preschool gives 3- and 4-year-old children the opportunity to explore, create and interact with children their own age while learning to feel comfortable at school.  This tuition-based program offers curriculum designed to prepare students for kindergarten and is not limited to district residents.

Day Care and Learning Center provides both a before- and after-school daycare program for children from kindergarten to fifth grade, as well as all-day childcare with educational enrichment for children ages 12 months to 5 years old.  Hours of operation are 6:30 am to 6:00 am year-round, offering care throughout school breaks, snow days and vacations.  Enrollment is not limited to residents of Kenowa Hills. Click here for 2020 School Session registration information.

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a state-funded preschool program. Those who qualify* may attend either a full- or half-day program four days per week, Monday through Thursday. The GSRP Program also includes two home visits, two parent-teacher conferences, parent in-services and workshops.  Please call the Kent Intermediate School District at 447-2409 for more details.

Bright Beginnings is a no cost family outreach and support program which uses the Parent as Teachers curriculum model. Parents as Teachers believes that children are born to learn and that parents are their children's first and most important teacher! Monthly playdates are held for parents and their children.
